Flaw detection for concrete and rocks
It is among the most recent methodologies available for structural investigations, delivering the full potential of a concrete and natural stone flaw detector to several civil engineering applications.
It is a powerful imaging tool, similar in many ways to the GPR, from which it differentiates for a larger detection range, especially on heavily reinforced elements and for its extreme sensitiveness to the presence of defects.
It represents a unique tool when performing thickness measurements (e.g. tunnel linings) or investigating delaminations, cracks and cold joints. It is also probably the only NDT technique able to perform the very difficult task of detecting grouting defects in post tensioning ducts.
